Partnering with Sarah Woiteshek of Miami University-Hamilton Center for Civic Engagement and Kathleen Klinke, Hamilton City Councilwoman & former Chair of Sense of Place Committee, we hosted the first A Small Group-Butler County gathering on February 26 at 6pm-7:30pm.
This is the invitation:
Change the Conversation, Change Your World
What could happen if, instead of complaining about the problems of the past and the current deficiencies of your community, you and your neighbors focused on possibilities for the future and the assets of the residents? What are the conversations you could have that would generate ideas that inspire you and call you to take actions that would transform your community?
For several months, we met and discussed ways to bring citizens together to have conversations that matter, conversations that explore the issues that have meaning to them.
Now, we invite you to join us and experience a unique approach to conversation, community and change that does just that. In this introductory event — based on the book, “Community: The Structure of Belonging”, by organizational consultant Peter Block — you will explore conversations that create a future distinct from the past. You will experience powerful, engaging conversations that encourage ownership, commitment, and accountability in any setting.
